Bridges to deep tech

Connect university and lab research with founders, investors and corporates. Researcher pitches, sessions on turning technology into business.

Tips

  • Put researchers up frontWhen the people behind the technology speak, questions get specific.
  • Plan the next stepLeave time to agree on what comes next: joint research, investment or a pilot.

Speaker panels and talks

People come for the speakers they want to hear.

Tips

  • Name speakers earlyFamiliar names drive sign-ups. Add them to your 4S page.
  • Make time to mingleConnections happen in the conversation after the talk.

Meetups

Gatherings by theme or industry: investors and founders, or founders in the same field.

Tips

  • Start with the guest listDecide who should be in the room before the topic. Entry criteria and invite-only are fine.
  • Welcome English speakersInternational guests widen the conversation.

University and factory tours

Labs, research facilities and factories. Open up Tokyo’s real sites and show the real thing.

Tips

  • Open places people rarely seeThe visit itself becomes the reason to come.
  • Post capacity and rules firstPut check-in, photo rules and dress code on your 4S page.

A place to build. People leave with teammates as much as with projects.

  • Make the brief concreteReal challenges from companies or local government give the work a life after the event.

    Events in English may be shown higher in the official list.

  • Use the Tokyo Tech Week name and logo

    Once confirmed, use them in your promotion per the guidelines (due in November). Hashtag: #TokyoTechWeek.
