Fees, venues and promotion
Is there a fee to be listed?
Registration and listing are free. Venue, catering, operations and other event costs are covered by the host.
Will a venue be provided?
Hosts arrange their own venue. Any venue in Tokyo is fine.
Will you promote my event?
Your event reaches Tokyo Tech Week attendees through the official event list and our social media. Promotion beyond that is up to the host.
Can I register a paid event?
Yes. We recommend free entry, but if you charge, show the price on 4S.
Training and rules
Is the DEI and harassment training required?
Yes. At least one lead organizer or staff member must attend one of the online sessions: Thu 19 November, 17:00–18:00 or Fri 20 November, 12:00–13:00 (JST). We also recommend that your event-day staff attend. If you really cannot make either session, please contact the secretariat at info@tech-week.jp.
Can I take registrations without 4S?
No. All Tokyo Tech Week events must be registered on 4S. The official site links to each event’s 4S page.
What if all my speakers are men?
Events with several speakers should not be all male. If your event’s purpose gives a reasonable exception, state the reason on your event page. Otherwise, the secretariat may ask for the reason, and listing order or placement may differ.
Language and online
Are online events eligible?
Events must take place in Tokyo. You may also stream them online.
Does my event have to be in English?
No, Japanese-language events are welcome. We strongly encourage English, and recommend AI translation tools for events in Japanese.
Listing and operations
Is there a main event and side events?
No. Tokyo Tech Week has no “side events”. Every event on the official site is treated equally.
Is my listing guaranteed?
No. Listings may be delayed or miss the week if you apply late, if there are questions about the content, or if we receive more entries than expected. Please apply early.
Who manages attendee data?
The host, under 4S’s terms of use and the host’s own privacy policy.
